QUALITY

ISO9001:2000 is the International Quality Standard that establishes rules for businesses to follow through their processes in order to demonstrate good management and business discipline. It sets requirements that do not go beyond commonsense; in fact good companies like Premier Farnell will operate naturally to ISO9001 guidelines through Business as Usual. The new 2000 standard takes a different stance to the old standards that were very much task focused. ISO9001:2000 looks at more business management issues; strategy, the setting of objectives, planning, measurement as well as work activity and in this respect is more appropriate to all business processes and an extremely valuable tool in helping businesses to develop and improve.
