WARNING TO SHAREHOLDERS REGARDING FRAUD
Premier Farnell has become aware that shareholders have received unsolicited phone calls, emails or other correspondence concerning buying or selling shares, including shares in Premier Farnell. These are typically from overseas “brokers” or “investment advisers” either offering to sell what turn out to be worthless or high risk shares OR offering to buy Premier Farnell shares at prices well above current market price.
If you receive an approach like this you should:
Get the full name of the person and organisation
Check that they are properly authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) by visiting www.fsa.gov.uk/fsaregister
If the organisation is not authorised, they may be known to the FSA and appear on their list of unauthorised firms and individuals at www.fsa.gov.uk/doing/regulated/law/alerts/unauthorised-firms. It is recommended that you do NOT deal with any person or firm that appears on this list. If calls persist, you should hang up. If you deal with an unauthorised firm, you will NOT be eligible to receive payment under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme for any loss you suffer.
- You should contact the FSA, either on their helpline number of 0845 606 1234 or using their on-line reporting form at www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/doing/related/law/alerts/form.shtml
More detailed information from the FSA on this or similar activity can be found on the FSA website at www.fsa.gov.uk/consumerinformation/scamsandswindles
Details of any share dealing facilities that the company endorses will be included in company mailings to shareholders.
